The Summer School was not only a training course, but also a comprehensive academic journey where students were exposed to modern research methodologies, developed critical thinking, and progressively built their individual research projects in a systematic and scientific manner.
Following the success of its inaugural cohort in 2024, the second edition expanded further in scale, content, and quality. The academic environment of the Summer School became a nurturing space for independent research ideas, transforming students’ academic passion into concrete, practical, and valuable research outputs.
Throughout the program, students participated in:
🔹 10 in-depth training sessions, delivered by experienced lecturers and researchers, to build solid research foundations:
✨ Dr. Nguyễn Xuân Đông - Introduction to the structure and development of an international research paper, citation skills, and topic selection
✨ Dr. Phạm Phương Ngọc - Quantitative research methods and applications using STATA

In addition to specialized training, this year’s Summer School placed strong emphasis on international academic engagement. Students had the opportunity to join:
✨ An academic exchange session with Prof. Emiliya Lazarova, Dean of the School of Economics, University of East Anglia (United Kingdom), on the topic “Adoption of International Environmental Agreements”

✨ A special workshop with Prof. Russell Smyth from Monash University (Australia) on “Structuring an Empirical Academic Paper” and “Strategies for Publishing and Having Impact”

The intensive training series equipped students with a solid knowledge base and essential research skills, from critical thinking and hypothesis building to systematic topic development. At the same time, through academic exchanges with international scholars, students gained exposure to global research standards, broadening their academic perspectives and methodological approaches.
Students have now officially entered the stage of finalizing their individual research projects, under close supervision and guidance from faculty members. These outputs are highly practical and reflect the rigorous training process, academic growth, and the long-term research potential that the Scientific Research Summer School aims to foster.
The Faculty of International Economics, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, extends its sincere gratitude to all lecturers, experts, international partners, and student participants for their contributions, support, and commitment in creating a meaningful and inspiring DAV Summer Research School 2025.
Now, let us revisit the memorable moments of the 2025 Scientific Research Summer School. We look forward to welcoming students back to DAV Summer Research School 2026 with even more enriching and valuable academic experiences!
