The 2018 Ambassador’s Forum launched at Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam

On the morning of 23 January 2018, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam launched the 2018 Ambassador’s Forum. This is an initiative of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam that aims to further enhance capacity for conducting research and training of the Academy as well as Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam. Moreover, this also serves as an opportunity to intensify cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and diplomatic corps in Hanoi, creating more interactions and communication between Ambassadors and Vietnamese academic circles in order to deepen understanding and exchanges and promote relations between Vietnam and other countries. The Forum is expected to be held once a month.

Attending the Launch were Australian Ambassador Craig Chittick, Italian Ambassador Cecilia Piccioni, Belgian Ambassador Jehanne Roccas,  representatives from Embassy of Argentina, Embassy of the Netherlands, representatives from Southeast Asia Department, South Asia – Southern Pacific Department and numerous DAV researchers and lecturers.

Australian Ambassador Craig Chittick, the first speaker of the Forum, presented on Australia’s Foreign Policy White Paper. In his presentation, the Australian Ambassador underscored and highlighted various priorities of Australia and stressed the importance of the Indo-Pacific region in Australia’s foreign policy.
