

On the morning of December 12, 2025, the Vietnam–China Friendship Scholarship Award Ceremony 2025 was held in a solemn and dignified atmosphere, during which 45 scholarships were awarded. This annual program is jointly organized by the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam (DAV) and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Viet Nam (Chinese Embassy), with the aim of fostering Vietnam–China friendship, strengthening connections between the younger generations of the two countries, and encouraging students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements, strong dedication to their studies.

Representing the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Viet Nam were Mr. Wang Qun, Minister Counsellor, Mr. Chu Wen, Political Counsellor, along with nine young Chinese diplomats.

On the side of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam, attendees included Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin – Vice President of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam; Ms. Do Tu Hien – Deputy Chief of the Office; Mr. Hoang Van Hanh – Deputy Head of the Training Department; Mr. Do Thanh Trung – Representative of the Northeast Asia Department; Mr. Phan Vu Tuan Anh – Head of the Chinese Language Faculty; Ms. Hoang Mai Huong – Head of the Undergraduate Training Division; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Hiep – Head of the Department of Political Affairs and Student Management; Mr. Pham Thanh Tung – Secretary of the Youth Union; and Mr. Nguyen Duc Phuc, Representative of the Faculty of International Economics.

The ceremony opened with a dance performance titled “Lotus” presented by students of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam, followed by a musical performance in Chinese combined with flute accompaniment of the song “Fu Guang”, performed by student Nguyen Khanh Phuong.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin, Vice President of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam, emphasized: “The Vietnam–China Friendship Scholarship Program has become an annual initiative closely associated with students studying Chinese, as well as those facing difficult circumstances but demonstrating strong determination and perseverance in their academic pursuits. This meaningful support not only provides material assistance but also serves as a great source of spiritual encouragement for students on their journey of learning and self-development.”

Mr. Wang Qun, Minister Counsellor of the People’s Republic of China in Viet Nam, also shared heartfelt remarks at the ceremony: “The inheritance and continuation of China–Viet Nam friendship rests heavily on the shoulders of young people. I hope that students will nurture lofty aspirations, cultivate moral integrity, and strive to become talented individuals.” In addition, he delivered profound messages to today’s younger generation, encouraging them to make continuous efforts to become active participants, builders, and contributors to the China–Viet Nam community with a shared future.

The sincere and insightful remarks delivered by Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin and Minister Counsellor Wang Qun once again affirmed the positive development of the relationship between the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam and the Chinese Embassy in Viet Nam. These meaningful exchanges contributed to strengthening the long-standing friendship between the two countries and between the dynamic younger generations of Viet Nam and China.


At the ceremony, 45 scholarships, each valued at 10 million VND, were awarded to Chinese-language students with excellent academic performance and active participation in extracurricular activities, as well as to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have made remarkable efforts to overcome difficulties in their studies. These scholarships not only recognize students’ commendable efforts but also contribute to strengthening Vietnam–China friendship and promoting the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.

Student Truong Bao Linh, a member of Cohort 49 majoring in International Relations, delivered a speech on behalf of the scholarship recipients, expressing aspirations for academic excellence and deep appreciation for the cooperative activities between the two countries.
A notable highlight of this year’s Vietnam–China Friendship Scholarship Award Ceremony was the interactive exchange between students of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam and young diplomats from the Chinese Embassy in Viet Nam. Through open dialogue and candid discussions, this activity enhanced mutual understanding and trust between the younger generations of both countries, thereby laying an important human and social foundation for sustaining and promoting long-term friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and China.



The Vietnam–China Friendship Scholarship Award Ceremony 2025 concluded with many memorable moments, leaving positive impressions of the spirit of cooperation and mutual sharing between the two countries. Notably, the program reaffirmed the role of education as a vital bridge, enhancing mutual understanding and further deepening Vietnam–China friendship in the new era.
