


Welcoming Ambassador Antonios Papakostas to the Academy, Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh provided an overview of the Academy’s functions, organizational structure, and notable achievements over the past 65 years. She expressed the Academy’s interest in promoting cooperation with Greek partners under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on August 1, 2022, between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs on diplomatic training collaboration. Within this framework, potential areas of cooperation include information sharing on training programs, and the exchange of lecturers, experts, and researchers in fields of mutual interest. Vice President Lan Anh highly appreciated the initiatives proposed by the Greek Embassy and affirmed the Academy’s readiness to work closely and proactively to translate the discussed ideas into concrete outcomes.

For his part, Ambassador Antonios Papakostas expressed his pleasure at visiting the Academy and thanked its leadership for the warm welcome. The Ambassador shared his enthusiasm about taking up his first post in Southeast Asia and affirmed his wish to promote collaboration between academic institutions of Greece and Viet Nam for mutual benefit. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Greece (1975–2025), the Ambassador proposed a number of initiatives to enhance cooperation, including inviting Greek scholars to deliver presentations at the Academy, and organizing exhibitions and thematic seminars. He emphasized that this was a meaningful opportunity for both sides to reflect on the achievements of bilateral cooperation and explore future prospects.
