The meeting was attended by the Directors and Deputy Directors of the Diplomatic Training Institutions of the ASEAN Plus 3, many of whom were Ambassadors, or used to hold important positions in Ministries of Foreign Affairs and overseas representative missions agencies. In addition, the 15th Meeting also welcomed a guest speaker, Mr. A. Yakovenko, Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Russia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Following the success of the course for young diplomats on the sidelines of the 14th Meeting (2019) hosted by Vietnam, this year, on March 8th, 2021, Japan continued to organize a workshop for young diplomats of the ASEAN Plus 3. It was attended by Dr. Nakatani Hiroki, former Assistant Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Senior Advisor of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), and Mr. Ono Keiichi, Director-General of the Global Issues Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The delegates are young diplomats from ASEAN Plus 3, in which Vietnam has four participants from the ASEAN Department, Northeast Asia Department, Multilateral Economic Cooperation Department, and International Organizations Department.

The meeting consisted of 3 discussion sessions on: (i) Prospects for new measures in response to Coronavirus and post-pandemic training; (ii) Outcomes, assessments and promotions for languages training; (iii) Future cooperation and information sharing among Diplomatic Training Institutions of the ASEAN Plus 3.
The topics of the discussion sessions developed by the host country Japan were diverse, practical, associated with the current common interests of countries. The meeting also exchanged discussions not only on diplomatic training but also on updating situations and information sharing on measures in response to the Covid-19 pandemic in each country. Thereby, member countries have also proposed directions for training and fostering programs organization during and after the pandemic.

Although this year's meeting was shortened in terms of time and number of discussion sessions, the delegates came up with many initiatives on joint programs, data sharing, opening up practical and effective cooperation opportunities among countries in the future.
