Speaking at the event, Acting President Nguyễn Hùng Sơn reviewed the Academy's achievements with five key breakthroughs:

First, both undergraduate and graduate programs underwent substantial reforms, emphasizing practicality and aligning closely with real-world needs. The Academy has successfully attracted high-caliber students, including many with international certifications, maintaining its position among institutions with the highest admission scores nationwide and solidifying its reputation as one of the country’s top institutions. It achieved an enrollment milestone of 8,000 students and scored 95/100 in educational quality accreditation, ranking in the top 15% of over 200 institutions evaluated.

Second, professional development training for foreign service officials was implemented effectively, with greater depth and focus. In 2024, the Academy organized training courses for leadership and management personnel in foreign affairs for various central and local agencies, earning high praise from participants and agencies.

Third, the Academy excelled in research, producing numerous high-quality outputs, including reports and proposals for senior leaders. It also organized prestigious forums at both regional and global levels, contributing significantly to the formulation of national foreign policy.

Fourth, the Academy made notable advancements in scientific management and information infrastructure. It actively developed a digital library, upgraded its information technology systems, and improved its network infrastructure to support management, teaching, research, and other activities effectively.

Finally, in terms of facilities development, the Academy is actively implementing major projects, such as “Capacity Building for Training and Research” project funded by KOICA (South Korea) and the construction of its second campus at 120 Trần Quốc Hoàn. These initiatives aim to meet the demands for infrastructure and realize the Academy’s vision for 2030.

Ms. Phạm Lan Dung, Standing Vice Chair of the DAV Council, expressed confidence in the Academy’s future growth and reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to supporting its leadership team in achieving both short- and long-term goals while ensuring the best policies for the Academy’s employees.

In research, amid a rapidly changing world, he called on the Academy to focus on research, ensuring timely and proactive research and policy advice that align with the needs of senior leadership.

In education, the Academy should focus on improving the quality of education, enhancing teaching methodologies, and strengthening the capacity of faculty members. The Deputy Minister also encouraged Ministry units to support the Academy by providing lecturers and offering internship opportunities to its students.

In information and library services, the Ministry leadership commended the Academy’s innovations and digitalization efforts to benefit students and staff. The Deputy Minister expressed hope that by 2025 or 2026, the Academy would publish the first edition of an internationally recognized journal.

In infrastructure development, the Deputy Minister urged the Academy to continue its efforts and ensure timely progress on major projects such as the KOICA-funded initiative and the new campus at Trần Quốc Hoàn.
