On the morning of May 12, 2026, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) successfully organized the Scientific Seminar entitled "Vietnam’s Partnership Frameworks in the New Era: Theoretical and Practical Issues". The seminar was held within the framework of a ministry-level research project chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Anh Tuan, Acting Dean of the Faculty of International Politics and Diplomacy. The event was chaired by Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin, Vice President of the DAV, with the participation of lecturers, researchers, and experts from both within and outside the Academy.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin emphasized the imperative to identify the factors influencing Vietnam’s cooperation choices amidst an increasingly expanding partnership network. She also suggested several innovative approaches to understanding the substance and role of cooperation frameworks in the new era.
During the first session, "Vietnam’s Partnership Frameworks: Theoretical Issues and Approaches from a Defense-Security Perspective," the presentations focused on clarifying the development process of Vietnam’s partnership frameworks from 2001 to the present, while highlighting core principles in defense and security thinking. The second session, themed "Vietnam’s Partnership Frameworks: From an Economic-Development Perspective and Practical Implementation," recorded valuable insights from experts and policymakers regarding the opportunities and challenges in executing Vietnam’s partnership strategies today.

In the Open Discussion session, delegates focused their exchanges on the future orientation of the research project. Numerous recommendations were made to clarify the theoretical foundations, classification criteria, and the substantive nature of these partnership frameworks, thereby more effectively serving research, policymaking, and teaching activities.

Closing the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Anh Tuan highly appreciated the experts' contributions and affirmed that the research outline would be further refined in the coming phase. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin also extended her sincere thanks to all participating delegates and expressed her desire to continuously promote academic exchange activities at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam./.
