

The talk was attended by Deputy Director of Cultural Diplomacy & UNESCO Affairs Department Vu Binh; Deputy Director of International Organizations Department Do Hung Viet and nearly 40 Union members, young people from units under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the talk, Deputy Director of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO Affairs Department Vu Binh shared useful experiences, accompanied by many close and practical evidence drawn from the actual experience on the negotiation table. According to the expert, in order to negotiate well, young people need to have a wise strategy, a clear definition of the key, correct diplomatic guidelines and strategies; and they need to grasp the world situation. In particular, knowing how to evaluate, combining internal strengths, and taking advantage of international situation opportunities are the very important elements to achieve success in this field.
In addition, within the framework of the talk, there was the sharing of Deputy Director of the International Organizations Department Do Hung Viet. He particularly emphasized that a diplomat needed to apply a lot of skills on the negotiation table, for example, absolute compliance with principles, understanding of partners, negotiating content; building internal consensus, gathering forces; being a good listener, and using English fluently.

In the context of further integration, Vietnam will surely join in a lot of conventions and agreements with other countries and international organizations. As a result, training to improve external negotiation skills is a necessary requirement for diplomats in this period.
The talk ended successfully and brought a lot of knowledge and experiences with high theoretical and practical values. Similar to “Sharing knowledge day”, after the talk on “Sharing experiences on external negotiations”, young people from the units under Foreign Ministers would be well prepared before actually joining in international negotiations.
