On the evening of 11 September, the Faculty of Chinese Language – Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV), in collaboration with the DAV Chinese Club, organized a welcome meeting for Cohort 52 freshmen. This annual event aims to help new students gain a clearer understanding of their academic program and address any questions before the new academic year begins. The gathering not only marked a warm welcome from the Faculty to its newest members but also served as a bridge helping them familiarize themselves with the learning environment, lecturers, and fellow students.
Welcome Meeting for Cohort 52 – Faculty of Chinese Language, held on 11 September 2025
The event was honored to welcome Dr. Phan Vũ Tuấn Anh, Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Language; Ms. Trần Ngọc Ninh, Deputy Dean of Faculty; together with other faculty members. It also featured speakers, current students, members of the DAV Chinese Club, and especially more than 300 freshmen of Cohort 52 who chose Chinese as their foreign language at the Academy.
In his remarks, Dr. Phan Vũ Tuấn Anh extended a warm welcome to all freshman students and emphasized both the opportunities and challenges associated with studying the Chinese language in an era of global integration. He concluded by conveying his best wishes for their upcoming journey of learning and personal development.
In addition to the faculty’s sharing, the event featured two outstanding student speakers: Trần Bùi Ái Linh (Cohort 49, Chinese Studies) and Nguyễn Hà Phương (Cohort 50, International Communication). As guest speakers, they offered practical insights into their learning experiences at the Faculty of Chinese Language. Their sharing covered a range of useful topics—from making effective use of textbooks and learning materials, seizing scholarship opportunities, to balancing major coursework with extracurricular activities.
The welcome meeting also provided an opportunity for freshmen to directly ask questions to faculty members and senior students. Concerns related to the academic curriculum, career prospects, and methods for studying Chinese were addressed thoughtfully and thoroughly. Faculty and senior students shared their authentic experiences at DAV, helping Cohort 52 build confidence and better prepare for the upcoming academic year.
By the end of the event, Cohort 52 freshmen had become more connected, more confident, and more prepared to embrace the challenges ahead. It is hoped that this first gathering with the Faculty of Chinese Language not only deepened their understanding of language learning but also gave them motivation and inspiration as they begin their new journey at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.
