On the morning of December 13th, the Faculty of International Politics and Diplomacy (FIPAD) successfully organized a seminar titled “Career Orientation in Journalism, Communication, and External Information in the Digital Age for students not majoring in Communication.

The event was led by two experienced speakers: Ms. Nguyen Thuy Van, former Director of the Voice of Vietnam Radio's Representative Office in the Republic of France and Western Europe, former Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department, former Deputy Head of the VOV1 Department (VOV - Voice of Vietnam); and Mr. Nguyen Le Tan, Director of VTC Digital Media Center (VTC Media), VTC Multimedia Corporation, former Director of VTC Digital Content Center (VTC Now). The event also featured Dr. Le Thi Ngoc Han, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Politics and Diplomacy, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam; FIPAD lecturers; and over 70 students from the Faculty of International Politics and Diplomacy.

In her opening speech, Dr. Le Thi Ngoc Han emphasized that career guidance is a crucial task in university education, especially in the context of the Journalism and Communication field's strong influence and close connection with social life. She hoped that the seminar would not only share experiences but also open up a practical perspective on career opportunities for students in the digital age, where proactive learning and adaptation are key factors.
During the seminar, the two speakers shared heartfelt and useful insights on issues related to Journalism, Communication, and International Relations. Ms. Nguyen Thuy Van recounted her journey in International Relations, working as both a journalist and fulfilling the mission of bringing Vietnam's story to the world. The speakers emphasized the importance of independent thinking, foundational knowledge, and the ability to view issues from multiple perspectives. Mr. Nguyen Le Tan shared his story of seizing opportunities to enter the field of journalism; affirming that journalism helps cultivate self-confidence, resilience, and the ability to adapt to pressure and challenges. From these stories, the two speakers conveyed the message that the field of Journalism, Communication, and External Information is not limited to any particular academic discipline; what matters is a spirit of always being ready to learn, adapt, and seize opportunities for oneself.

In addition, the students participating in the event also showed interest in the topic of the seminar with questions that demonstrated independent thinking and a serious understanding of the field of journalism, communication, and external information. With the desire to access practical professional insights from the perspective of experienced speakers, this contributed to an open, two-way exchange atmosphere; while affirming the academic value and applicability of the seminar for participating students.

The seminar is part of the Career Orientation Program, a series of activities organised regularly by FIPAD to equip students with practical knowledge for their future career development.
