TÓM TẮT NHỮNG ĐÓNG GÓP CHÍNH CỦA LUẬN ÁN

Truyền thông và chính trị là hai lĩnh vực có mối quan hệ đặc biệt. Nhận thấy vai trò ngày càng gia tăng của truyền thông đối với chính trị quốc tế, nên trong những năm đầu thế kỷ 21, việc nghiên cứu về quan hệ giữa truyền thông và Chính trị quốc tế (CTQT) rất được các học giả quốc tế quan tâm, tuy nhiên tại Việt Nam lại chưa có một công trình nghiên cứu nào như vậy.

Luận án đã trình bày khái quát về truyền thông và CTQT những năm đầu thế kỷ 21, hệ thống lý luận liên ngành truyền thông và CTQT, cơ sở thực tiễn, khung phân tích tác động của truyền thông tới CTQT, cũng như các khía cạnh tác động của truyền thông tới chính trị quốc tế.

Luận án đã chỉ ra, truyền thông tác động tới chính trị ở cả ba cấp độ: hệ thống (toàn cầu), quốc gia và cá nhân – ba cấp độ phân cơ bản trong CTQT. Các khía cạnh tác động cụ thể ở từng cấp độ là: Tác động vào dư luận toàn cầu, tạo ra các chương trình nghị sự toàn cầu, mang lại tính gắn kết nhưng cũng chia rẽ sâu sắc hơn trong CTQT (cấp độ hệ thống); Tác động gia tăng sức mạnh mềm quốc gia, thúc đẩy các phong trào dân chủ, và vào chính sách đối ngoại cũng như hoạt động ngoại giao (cấp độ quốc gia); Ở cấp độ cá nhân, truyền thông tác động tới hoạt động quan sát và nghiên cứu quan hệ quốc tế và hoạt động của các Lãnh đạo quốc gia, từ đó ảnh hưởng tới thực tiễn CTQT.

Luận án dự báo tác động của truyền thông tới CTQT trong 10 năm tiếp theo và đề xuất các bài học tham khảo gợi ý cho Việt Nam.

Luận án là công trình nghiên cứu công phu, và đáng tin cậy, có thể dùng làm tài liệu tham khảo, nghiên cứu và giảng dạy trong một số lĩnh vực như Truyền thông, truyền thông quốc tế, Chính trị quốc tế… và tài liệu tham khảo cho những ai quan tâm.

FINDINGS OF THE DISSERTATION

Mass communication and politics are two closely related fields. Acknowledging the rising role of mass communication in world politics during the early years of the 21st century, many scholars have been researching the relationship between mass communication and world politics. However, there is no such in-depth analysis on this topic in Vietnam.

The dissertation provided systematically a literature review on mass communication and world politics in the early 21st century, the system of theories of world politics and mass communication, as well as the frames of analysis of the effects and aspects of influence that mass communication has on world politics.

The dissertation has clarified the impact of mass communication on the world politics at all levels, including global, national and individual level – the 3 basic levels of analysis in world politics. The specific aspects of influence at each level are: influencing the global public opinion, creating global agenda programs which have been interconnected, bringing unification, but at the same time greater divergence to international relations (the global level of analysis); Generating an increase in national soft power, promoting democratic movements, and influencing diplomatic policies and activities (the national level of analysis); At the individual level of analysis, mass communication affects the observation and research of international relations as well as the activity of national leaders, thus affecting the reality of the world politics.

The dissertation has also forecasted the future influences of mass communication on the world politics in next ten year, as well as proposed suggestions for reference lessons for Vietnam.

As a comprehensive research, the dissertation can be used as documentation in teaching and studying several subjects in the field of international politics, mass communication, international communication… It also can be used as a reference document for those interested in these fields.
